Testing Process
1.) Intake: This is about a one-hour meeting with the client (and parent if the client is a child/adolescent). We will discuss current concerns and any questions regarding the testing process. Relevant background information will be gathered to narrow down the testing battery. If you decide to proceed with testing, all scheduling will be handled from that point on.
2.) In-Person Testing: Typically takes 2 to 4 hours, depending on the referral questions. Testing is usually scheduled for one 4-hour appointment or two 2-hour appointments. The client will complete questionnaires and be administered tests such as an IQ test, academic testing, memory test, or computer test for ADHD. Teacher or parent assessments are distributed at the start of the first testing session.
*If any consultation is requested with an outside provider or teacher, a release of information will need to be signed by the client or guardian/parent (under 18 y/o).
3.) Scoring/Report Writing/Consultations/Review of Documentation: After the last testing session and in preparation for the feedback session, all assessments will be scored, results interpreted, and a thorough report written. Any provided documentation will be reviewed, and consultations with outside providers/teachers will be conducted if necessary.
4.) Feedback Session: Scheduled two to three weeks after all testing is completed, typically lasting an hour. The report, including background information, assessment results, conclusions/diagnoses, and recommendations, will be discussed with the client and/or parents. The report will be emailed prior to the feedback session. Recommendations may include work or school accommodations.
