Originally from Arkansas, Karin began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2004, relocating to North Carolina in 2014. Her experience as a nurse and clinical administrator spans across a multitude of specialties including endocrinology, dermatology, family practice, community health, med-surg, hospice, and inpatient psychiatric care. She has also contracted with NovoNordisk as a clinical educational speaker for growth hormone therapy, and for Medtronic, OmniPod, and Animas training patients new to insulin pump therapy. She is excited to return to the mental health field and delighted to join the Cedar Oaks family.

“What I love most about working in healthcare is seeing positive changes in a patient's overall wellbeing and health when they receive quality collaborative care and education regarding their conditions. Knowing and seeing that you've genuinely helped someone improve their life even a tiny bit is what keeps me going after all these years.”

Karin refers to herself as a “food nerd” and when not working she can be found experimenting in the kitchen and exploring new places to eat. She dabbles in cosmetology (you never know what hair color she will show up with) and interior design. She's an avid reader, loves podcasts, documentaries, movies, musicals and theater. But most of all, she cherishes spending time with her loved ones, friends, and her dog.
