Robert Rexroat

Robert Rexroat graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2024. While completing his internship, he worked with diverse populations providing mental health counseling and therapy to underserved individuals and couples in Orange County. CA. His interests include working with adults struggling with anxiety and depression and couples struggling with communication barriers and attachment injury. He joined the Cedar Oaks team in 2025.
Robert's therapeutic approach is psychodynamic and is rooted in the person. He recognizes that each person comes to therapy with a unique history informed by various experiences, which have shaped them in particular ways. Robert approaches the therapeutic experience, considering foremost what the person identifies as the problem for which they are seeking therapy.
When Robert is away from his work with patients, you will find him reading a wide variety of books, planning trips to faraway places, listening to the Grateful Dead or playing guitar. Before becoming a therapist Robert worked at a children's hospital in southern California providing emotional support to patients, parents, and staff in the intensive care units.
